Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo[1] bank has announced Europe’s first pilot test of a contactless biometric payment card. The sixteen week trial will make use of a Mastercard[2] branded card and take place in three cities — Turin, Milan and Rome.
Mastercard revealed last month that it was working on a contactless biometric card “to be ready in early 2019”[3].
