The nonprofit organization is branching out to provide its services to the Japanese blockchain industry.
The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance announced[1] on July 19 that it would be opening its first regional office in Japan. The consortium has appointed Kazuaki Ishiguro as the EEA's regional head.
The EEA[2] is a nonprofit organization that "connects Fortune 500 enterprises, startups, academics, and technology vendors with Ethereum subject matter experts."
The office is intended to help advance the Japanese Ethereum community by encouraging EEA standards[3], connecting support groups, and providing members with access to EEA resources.
EEA Executive Director Ron Resnick said of the EEA's expansive efforts:
"As part of our efforts to accelerate the global adoption of Enterprise Ethereum standards and associated certification programs, the EEA intends to open regional offices in multiple geographies. Today, we're announcing the opening of our first regional office with the appointment of Kazuaki Ishiguro as the regional head. He is a blockchain expert and the right leader to help grow our blockchain initiatives in Japan and address the needs of EEA's growing member base."
Ishiguro will be the EEA's main contact and "evangelist for the region." He will take on the responsibility of ensuring that the EEA Enterprise Ethereum Client Specification[4] and various member materials are translated into Japanese, and will participate in workshops and training sessions. He will also engage in hackathons, like the one being held in Tokyo July 20-22, which will see teams compete to develop the best Ethereum-based blockchain tourism services prototype.
