The U.S. Supreme Court has denied the review of the life sentence of Ross Ulbricht^[1], also known as the “Dread Pirate Roberts” of the Silk Road darknet marketplace, according to a court order^[2] released today, June 28.

Twitter account @free_ross tweeted^[3] the news today, calling the court’s decision “devastating:”

Ulbricht had been arrested and sentenced^[6] to life in prison in 2015 for his involvement in the Silk Road marketplace, convicted^[7] of helping the distribution of drugs, computer hacking, fraud, and money laundering, among others.
